Folks are already experiencing many challenges in this 2008 Election Process … Long lines, faulty machines, purged voter registrations, early poll closings, identification requirements, and, even the very simple challenge of getting to the right polling place.
What can you do? First and foremost, you must be determined to fight, stand, and yes, even WAIT, for your right to VOTE! Additionally, you can help others do the same.
Start by getting your VOTE in early if you live in one of the 31 states with early election; volunteer at your local election office; distribute water or food to those standing in line; get informed and be prepared to answer questions for voters being challenged; and offer transportation to those in need.
If you have some extra time; give up and hour or so, to hold a place in the voting lines for someone who may have unbreakable commitments, preventing them from waiting in line for the hours it may take to reach the voting booth.
I know it’s a lot to ask … yet, isn’t it worth it? We may never get this close to impacting such an incredible CHANGE in our country. We are making history here, people. Many before us, and many with us now, have made much greater sacrifices.
Your VOTE and your contribution can change your life!! Don’t sit this one out … Do something!
WE NEED every VOTE to overcome (yet again) the Republican machine that is determined to keep Senator Barack Obama from being elected the President of the United States. (see earlier posts – “Don’t Boo; just VOTE”)
In the words of the immortal Sam Cooke … “It’s been a long time coming, but a CHANGE gon’ come”.
CHANGE starts with US … More of the same, falls on us, too. It’s up to US … one person at a time.
Later posts will provide state by state details on the voting requirements, in addition to contact information which may be useful in solving the voting challenges happening you area.
I need your help … On this post, I ask all of you to share with KiM411, any information which will help Democratic voters across this country ensure that they have the opportunity to exercise their RIGHT to VOTE.
Comment on the challenges and solutions you’ve experienced, or heard about … List telephone numbers and addresses that can be used if voters are having trouble … And, of course share with us any volunteer efforts that will get help ALL VOTERS get to the polls.
Write your comments … share this message … Keep it Movin’!

Look at the Akron Beacon Journal 10-24-2008—there is a little story about a 93 year young lady ( Jeff’s Mother) who voted early yesterday.
I asked my husband to drop off some cases of water to the
Obama Hqt, today. Pass the word if you cannot make calls, or walk the streets …. drop off water, food and other goodies the VOLS will love your support.
